Some one correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't they the same as a madtom? Then there's a stone cat? Not real sure. Not very common in my area.

They're so ugly they're beautiful. Made some bullhead gliders for Musky awhile back & was so inspired I made one a madtom pattern. They like (hate) them, too.

I heard they have mean sting to them

Ugly?!?!? That there is walleye candy here on the Mississippi....and the price reflects that. This year they were a dollar a piece!!!

I thought that bullheads had a bony spine that stuck up. How do walleye eat these fish without getting stuck? Or do the younger ones not have this spine yet?
