Shallow divers and snap weights help. Smaller bill and the snap weight stops a lot of the crud from getting to the lure. You'll have less line out too so clean off takes less time.

I had a 2003 with a 250 HPDI on it. Average was around 56 mph GPS with a 21" Rev 4 full load. Super light load and a 23 Tempest it would hit 58-59 mph GPS. Loved the boat, Motor not so much.

yes. that pretty much describes it. Not entirely easy but doable. The previous transducer was glassed in by the dealer ahead of the pumps but did not work very well.

I'm not sure if the Elite 5 has the NMEA port on the back but I have 2 Elite 7's connected to mark waypoints on both at the same time. it does require the Lowrance NMEA 2000 kit tho.
