OK Jim, I'll try to start it off again. I know you say color doesn't matter. But what is your favorite color? Also what about Dipsey color? Do the shiny ones scare the eyes?

Question for ETT

OK Jim. I'll try to get this started. Let's all ask Jim some questions to keep him busy while he recovers from hip repacement surgery. We all know your seminars are about trolling, but I want to...

RE: Trolling Plate vs. Drift Sock

I don't know that I would put a trolling plate on a 140. I have one on my 90 and my partner has one on his 115. With the plate you have to remember to raise it before going to high speed running. ...

RE: Tail dancers

I bought the Deep TD's and have used them on Erie. Can't say they are any better then Reef Runners. Though I don't run them as much as my RR's. Just not enough color options. Run the gold and...

RE: line color ?

In my opinion green or clear work equally as well on lake erie. Red also seems to be OK most days. The only time we had anything that could have been the color was jigging eyes in April. And I...

RE: open water Erie perch

Most of the tackle shops will be able to tell you where to go. Were catching them with the eyes between Mouse and Green. Basically the same places most of them ice fish when there's ice.

RE: people on Ebay are nuts...

It's not just e-bay. When Manda's, a local tackle shop was auctioned off, a lot of the stuff went for more than what it was sold there for retail. You could go to about any other tackle shop or...

RE: Fav. Gulp for Erie

I've use the 4" turtle back worm in pumkinseed on both weight forward spinners and on harnesses with good success. A couple of my buddies use it exclusively on their spinner rigs.

RE: What time do your feet hit the floor in the morning?

When I was woeking, I was up by 5:30 AM 5 days a week and by 6 on weekends. Now it's whenever. If I go to be by midnight, I'm up by 6:30. Unless I'm going fishing, then its up at 4AM.

RE: What is your verdict on Gulp?

Use Gulp jigging and on Erie Dearies. Also 4" turtle back, pumpkin seed on harnesses. Works great if in the strike zone. If it's not in the strike zone, it don't matter what you use.
