I use an 8G card. Have recorded about 8 hours on it and it never filled. I do record in 60-90 minute files though. Uploading and merging gets slow when the file is too big.

The Elite-5x HDI does not have mapping capabilities. It does have the traditional "fish finder" and the down imaging.

Elite-5M is only a chartplotter...map/GPS.
