I was planning on making a new transom myself...
I was planning on making a new transom myself instead. So I shouldn't be worried about having a transom 1/8" thinner than the factory one then? Wouldn't that be a bit weaker? I have alot of weight...

That helps alot I was trying to find a thread just like that thank you very much. I just found it strange that the transom I pulled out measured 1 5/8" thick with a 1" and 5/8" put together instead...

Standard thickness of Lund Explorer transom?
I am in the process of replacing the transom in my 2004 Lund 1800 Explorer and all the posts I keep seeing says to use two 3/4 plywood to make 1 1/2" thick. The transom I pulled out measures 1 5/8"...

What material for Lund transom?
Have any of you used different materials to replace the transom like plastic, composite boards, or aluminum instead of wood? The wood is rotten in my 2004 Lund Explorer 1800. Thanks
