RE: Ashtabula Saturday (08/03/02)

Brad,

If you think Perch and gold stingers are hot, try them late in the evening 7PM to 9:30PM off Dipsies, they'll be on FIRE. Look for the fish to be high, in 20 to 45 ft, kills Steelies also.

RE: Why would someone even bother?

I've seen more than one large Pike or Musky...

Joe,
Sounds like you had a great day. That area has been good for 20 years, used to get 5-6lb. walleye there also(haven't tried for years), in the fall fishing for Smallmouth. Give it a try in Oct....

RE: can't buy bite in central basin

Yes, Yes, Yes, to all three, but for the first time our night bite didn't produce Thur. Most likely the full Moon Wed. night or the 3-5 ft. waves that made for some hard fishing. We did pick up...

RE: Help with eyes in Central Basin

ETT is correct, lose the deep diver on the dipsy. Stick with small Stingers by themselves. Large Dipsy on #1 setting, 70 to 110' out, and 2 1/2 setting, 120 to 150' out with a 7' leader of 17lb....
