I used a lot of Lindy rigs with a floating jig head. The jigs had a reversed bend eye which caused the hook to ride in the up position.
<IMHO> I believe I get more hook ups with this type of jig.

I make my own BB from brass rods and am thinking about setting up the BB so the line can slip. That would stop the short strikes, the down side I would get a lot more gut hooked fish.
