Call Mercury Customer Service at 920-929-5040 and have your serial number handy. They can let you know if there are service bulletins on your particular motor.

I should mention that you should check the water exiting the motor when it is running. If you smell gasoline in the water that is exiting the motor then you definitely need to have the fuel cooler...

Unfortunately the Opti may have had a frozen fuel cooler tube allowing gas into the cooling system and exiting the motor thru the pee tube. I just had the same thing happen to mine this past winter...
