what depth have you been finding them at?

the last couple times we were out I have caught them in around 10 feet of water. I was thinking this is kinda shallow? the weekend after opener we seem to be having our best luck in 18 feet of water.

I just run 8lb braid with 6lb fluoro, have 8lb XT as my backer joining to the braid with a double uni. Don't know if this is common practice or not. I like running lighter lines.
