RE: EXXON Profits UP 56%

Sooo, don't buy gas. That'll teach 'em.
Btw, I like the return as well.

RE: What's up with diesel prices??

Whacker, I did indeed read your entire post and addressed the issues of corrupt pols. As I said, it's in their interest to maintain low energy costs for obvious political reasons.
If the oil execs....

RE: What's up with diesel prices??

Using the logic that "it's all the politicians/oil companies fault" makes no sense. The politicians would want lower prices to keep/gain votes. I remember when the current ad. was accused of...

RE: Nobody Cares

I've been goin' on about this for years, fortunately it's not as bad yet as I anticipated. Oil is going to keep increasing and the politicians have nothing to do with it, it's a demand /supply thing....

RE: Pymatuning walleye population damaged by alewife

Properly handled, unfrozen, white bass are at least semi-edible, especially the 8-10 inchers. Wipers? Yuk. On the culinary delight scale I'd rank them right up there with carp, steelhead, and...

RE: Catch and Release; Does barbed hooks make this a Barbaric Practice?

Some years ago In-Fish reported the results conducted by English fisheries bios of a barb vs. barbless experiment. The results? Barbless killed substantially more fish. Apparently the barbless hooks...

RE: Pymatuning walleye population damaged by alewife

IMHO, hybrid stripers are virtually worthless. They may help crop alewives and the bigger ones fight reasonably well. On the table, ugh. Same with tiger muskies. I personally see little use for...

RE: Q for MikeB - Glass minnow trap

A "good enough" clear, see through trap can be made by cutting off the bottoms of 2, 2 liter pop bottles and stuff one end into the other or tape them together. It helps to cut the top openings a bit...

That site would be http://www.ohfishing.com. a strictly not for profit site.
Get details regarding Dave's b&t free excursions there on Lake Erie forum.

All b&t and charter ads, full page, are...

RE: Humiliated at River Marine, Ashtabula, Ohio

jerry, snoop gave good advice. An electric fillet knife makes the job a breeze. As snoop said, it takes longer to clean up the mess. After cleaning a limit or two you'll be an old pro. Very simple.

RE: No! You cant borrow it!

I call this the deer camp knife sydrome. Purchase an expensive knife. Hone and strop it to perfection. Loan it to your "buddies" at deer camp who failed to bring their own. When it's returned it will...

"What are the cops afraid of"? Maybe citizen review tribunals and "civil rights" shakedown/lawsuits. If a biker, or anybody else for that matter, pulls in front of a truck requiring the truck to...

RE: Cleveland Perch

That's a good suggestion RC. The spreader is easier to rig but this season I'll try tying the flicker snells directly to the mainline and see what happens. Sounds like a winner.

RE: Tiller or Console for trolling?

I think if one were trolling the big water only, such as Erie, where following contours, especially tight contours, isn't a consideration, and there is all the room in the world, then console would...

I personally can't speak from experience on the productivity of flathead chubs having never used them. However I've found that fathead chubs,("crappie" minnows), work every bit as well as emerald...

RE: Cleveland Perch

I use fathead chubs (crappie minnows) and do as well as when I used lake (emerald) shiners. They stay alive on the hook and in the bucket longer than the shiners. I have't used shiners in years.
The...
