RE: 50lb fireline Is this enough?

What is the diameter of 50lb fireline? You want a superline that is at least 18lb diameter mono equivalent and on a 7000 20lb equivalent diameter is probably best. Basically that is 100lb power pro...

RE: Washington Raises Minimum Size To 50 Inches

Wow, just like that. In wisconsin this would be debated and defeated by the public a bunch of times even if the DNR gave it the blessing. Congrats on a state that has a system that works.

RE: Biggest Northern I ever saw!

This has been on just about every fishing site known to man. Somehow, somebody told it wrong and it's been said this fish was from the Rainy River. It is from holland.

RE: What size baitcaster ?

It really depends on what you want to do. You can get a 5600 garcia sized reel and be ok. 6500 and 7000 sereies reels work well especially for big baits with heavy drag and baits like bucktails...

RE: Steel leaders?

Been trolling with flouro leaders for over 6 years without any troubles. If you are not comfortable with flourocarbon, you could use a coated wire leader. These two types are fish friendly as they...

RE: Attaching snap to 60# Fluoro

You can use an improved clinch knot for 60lb flouro, then add a drop of superglue to it. You can also crimp the tag end to ever keep it from slipping.

RE: Big one

Nice fish indeed. Washington has some nice tiger lakes shaping up. Hopefully an M.I. club will form soon to help educate with holds and such but nice fish none the less and congrats on the catch.

RE: Best line for casting or trolling?

What reel do you have the gorilla braid on? 50lb is ok, I do use it on my calcutta 250 and my garcia torno low profile reel. With musky lures, you won't be giving up casting distance with 50, 80 or...

RE: How hot is too hot? for fishing muskies, that is.

80 degrees is considered the time to stop by most. It is not always that the fish will stop biting, they may very well be active. They may release and swim off too. Some may be fine, others may...

RE: Best line for casting or trolling?

What kind of rod and reel are you using? Most muskyfisherman use 80 and 100lb superline as diameter is important over line strength with big lures and a baitcaster. 30lb is too small and can snap...

RE: Cutting hooks

One thing you can do to minimize this is to choose hooks that don't tear up the fish as bad. That does not necessarily mean barbless. I elect not to use 5x hooks. They are a #### to get out of a...
