Many of us run our outboards dry for winter storage. In the spring the fuel line is connected and pressing the primer bulb a few times puts fuel to the fuel injection system.

I have used cedar scented moth balls that have a pleasant odour. I have also used cloves spread around the boat that and the splash well. These have done the job for me.

Definitely purchase a new gasket. You don't want to loose the lube/oil or have any water enter the lower unit.

I think this may be a simple problem.
You say it ran fine last season till you fogged the engine. It does start for you but miss fires as it runs. It sounds like you may have a fouled spark plug.

Anchor
Here in Canada an anchor is a requirement for almost any boat. You don't want to get stopped by the police on the water!
That's a heads up for any one heading to Canada.

I agree that fogging the engine won't lubricate any internal bearings etc.
When you fog the engine at the end of the season it is usually after you have run the engine, changed the gear...

You really don't have to put the muffs on that motor to coat the cylinders.
With the plugs removed spray the fogging oil in each cylinder and crank the engine for a couple of seconds. Install the...

As motors age the compression will change. It's not so much what the compression should be it's are the 2 cylinders close to equal. That is the most important thing.

Rough running.
You should try putting a can of seafoam through the gas. Your old fuel could also create a similar problem you are having if the fuel was not treated end of last season.
It's a cheap fix .

I have the bert's tracks on my Superfisherman 186 and run Scottys with 60" booms. I upgraded the washers underneath the gunnels and have no problems with them fully extended.
