It doesn't make sense to me either, I was just quoting the regulations. We have gutted and gilled and then put them on ice in the boat. It would be nicer if we could just fillet them.

Easy, Leave it cleaner than you found it! Once you have your gear packed and staged it doesn't take long to do a good cleaning. They should have cleaning supplies for you.
