RE: Subject: Musky fishing advice needed

I suggest topwater baits. Two of my favorites are the Topraider and the Topwalker. Both of these are very effective baits when presented in overcast conditions. You can cover water quickly and...

RE: All-round Muskie/Northern Rod & Reel Set-Up

An all-around awesome set-up is a 7 foot MH and a 6500C3 spooled with 50 lb Cortland Spectron. I have this and highly recommend it for pike and muskie. Use this for spoons, bucktails, cranks,...

RE: the taste of muskie

It's good, but I prefer bald eagle. The meat's much more tender.

What jerkbait rod to get?

I've looked at the Allstar 6'3" for $120, the St Croix 6'9" for $120 and the GLoomis jerkbait rod for $150. I like them all- any suggestions? Thanks

RE: Dedicated jerkbait reel

I take that back. The C4 DOES work very well with jerkbaits (just tried it!) It takes up slack much quicker. I'll now use my C3 for cranks and bucktails.

RE: Dedicated jerkbait reel

I just tried my new 6500 C4 yesterday, and it works well with very fast retrieves of topwater and small bucktails. (Lures with little resistance in the water) Don't get it for jerks/large cranks-...

RE: What's the best left handed reel for under $100.00 ?

I second the 6501 C3. For the price, nothing compares. I just bought one from fleet farm and right now there's a $15 rebate.

What's a good jerkbait rod?

Last year I purchased a 7 foot med-heavy rod with a 6500 C4 as an all-purpose rod. Now, I'd like another for heavy cranks and jerkbaits. I have a 6500 C3 that I'll put on it. I was thinking of a 6...

What's an ambassadeur CL3?

Is it the same as a C3? I saw a 6500 CL3 at Walmart.
