For myself, I am hardly just winching the reel looking for a reactionary strike. If that was the case, I would go with a moderate action rod. However I am twitching and pausing the crankbait. The XF tip on a ML power rod is well suited for just that. You can feel a strike and give it a quick hook set before the fish spits it back out.
