For anyone with the same setup that might come across this thread I thought I would post my results.

Pulled all four plugs to start with and the results were not good...major cavitation!! Put two of the plugs back in and the holeshot is much improved. It can still get it to cavitate a little if I hammer it from a dead stop but if I roll the throttle a little slower it's great. I did notice a slightly higher minimum plane speed but only by about 1/2 mph.
