Good Question- some aluminums have high deadrise...
....like the Starcrafts running 17 and 19 degree deadrises in their 17 ft and up sizes. The only thing I can think of is that the brands you mention don't want to have the additional roll you get while trolling or casting with the higher deadrise in a relatively light aluminum boat. As for me, I'll take the smoother, drier ride from the higher deadrise anyday.
