I agree with staylor. A smooth ride in rough waves is very important.
The deeper V of the starcraft, 17-19 degrees will burn more gas, and you will need a higher speed to stay on plane. But I feel that these sacrifices are worth it for a smoother riding boat. You and your passengers will have less fatigue when you get back from a trip.
