I actually mounted up a Bow Sonar on a PDv2 yesterday. Mine does not have universal sonar either, and it was pretty simple. I mounted everything up like normal, and when I ran my x-ducer cable, I put a 1/2"OD teflon tube around the cable, for the length of the trolling motor shaft. This tube is going to provide some rigidity, protection, and it looks cleaner. Yes, I have a cable paralleling the shaft now, but I dont see a problem. I left enough to wrap the motor around twice, and zip tied it at the very top of the shaft, and the very bottom. No problem at all. Ran the plug end back through the coiled trolling motor wires, and right into the sonar.
