Default Navionics chip

Is the chip for Bay De Noc pretty accurate or are there still problems with the chip?

Before I purchased my last two chips, I went on line to see if I could save some serious money since the chips are rather costly. I did find acouple of fishing stores that would sell them to me about $15 less than MSRP, but by the time you factored in shipping (They come packaged in a rather large box) I found out I wasn't saving that much. I ended up calling Navionics and ordering them thru the company with the knowledge that, if I were to have a problem, (which I did with one of them) that I could go right back to the manufactuer, to have it resolved. I'm glad that I did that because Jeff at Navionics was a great guy and sent me a replacment chip right away so as not to ruin my pre-planned fihing trip. Good Luck and Great Fishing....Capt. Jerry

Youd have to go with the classic. The gold upgrade is only available for the colored graphs. The only difference is the gold has a better color feature and a help menu.It wont work on the x15mt.

Been using the chip for a few years with no problems. I'd guess that a new one has updates that I do not have ( maybe further coverage) but I love mine.
