Default mercury 9.9 4stroke

I have a 9,9 4 stroke, mercury. I have had carburetor issues since i bought it. problem it floods. new kits work for a little while and then floods. has anybody had similar problems? What can I do besides replace carburetor?

Replacing the needle in the carb is questionable at best.The seat is not replacable.... The only two options for you are 1) replace the whole carb. Retails for about $160.00 or 2) get the new 9.9 kicker. Much lighter engine and won't have this issue.

I had the same issues with mine, I found that keeping seafoam in the main tank along with never letting the carb go dry it took care of my issues with the float sticking.
The float on mine would sometimes come free by tapping the carb with a small hard rubber mallet after pumping up the primer ball till gas just started exiting the top of the carb.
By not letting the carb go dry I havent had an issue in several years. Hope this helps.
