I bought a used 05 60hp efi 4 stroke. It has under 30 hrs on it. This past week the smart craft gauge displayed TPS = throttle position sensor. The motor runs OK but I would like to know what this means ...and... if it involves taking it to a dealer. Is this something simple I could look into myself ? I already paid a mechanic $377 to replace a $21 diode so if I can look into this myself it would be a big help!! My good deal on a used motor is costing more & more!!! Of course the warrarty was up in July.... Yep last month!! Thanks for any help.

Pete,
I looked thru my old emails, that motor was put in to service July 2006, and according to Mercury, has a 3-year warranty on it. You should be covered until July '09. Terry |
