Default Anyone have experience with Plueger Patriarch, Supreme XT or Shimano Stradic CI4?

I recently purchased a st. croix legend extreme 6'9'' mlxf and I was just going to pair it with a mitchell 300 series or cardinal from one of my other poles but I figure I spent the money on the rod I mine as well buy a light reel and see how good that is. I am kind of between the stradic and the patriarch, has anybody used one? Is there anything that stands out with one over the other? What did you like/not like about it? I appreciate any feedback.

Default no

do you own a steez? From the research I have done there isn't enough of a difference to justify the extra money switching to a stella or steez. I only intend to use it on walleye and have other rods/reels for larger fish and won't need the added performance of the higher end reels, I just want to cut weight for vert. jigging.

Default Ditto On The Steez

I bought my first Steez about four years ago. I decided when I was in ICU, after suffering a massive heart attack, that when I got out of hospital I would treat myself to the best. After using it for awhile I came to the conclusion it wasn't worth the money. Then this year I purchased two custom made 2011 Legend Elite Extremes which are two of the lightest weight rods in my aresenal. When I put on the 2500 Steez I immediately noticed how light the whole outfit was. I can see when rigging for 10-12 hours I would appreciate the light weight of the two. But when free-spinned the reel crank I could immediately see just how balanced the reel is. But one doesn't need to spend today that kind of money for a reel, however. My advise is watch the weight of your reel. Try and stay under 8 oz in reel weight, I do like the Pflueger 6730. another great series of reels is The Diawa SS tournament Series 700 or the 1300. Shimano no experience so no comment. As A FYI I purchased another Steez just yesterday for another one of my rigging rods. Go figure

Don't know if you can get them anymore but the Supreme XT is one heck of a reel for the money. I used to use all Shimano but the XT's are lighter, smoother and more bang for your buck.

I love the supremes i have the reg. supreme as of now and i got to try out the new supreeme xt and the patriarch and i kinda like the supreme xt a lil better as it is not overly to light. it act. balances the rod a lil better then the patriarch does for my liking. if you can, try each reel out on your rod to see what or which one balances the best.
also not a huge gimmick but i noticed that the new supremes xt or was it the patriarch, cant remember now lol, have the info for braided line as well as the mono kinda neat i thought.

Default Good Point

Walleye fisherman do not need the high priced features of some of the reels out on the market today. If your like me I tighten the drag down and back reel. I always look for lightweight and strength that is why I like the Steez. Another great walleye reel is the Diawa SS Tournament Series 1300 for rigging and the lightweight 700 for jigging, Good point Superstock

Default Pictures with line on

Figured I would throw up 2 pics of it up before I handled it and beat it up any. It's definatly a light set up, and should make a joy to fish with.

Have not used any of the others but I have two stradics 1000 and 2500. Enjoy fishing with both of them. Very smooth and no little quirks like I have with other reels.
