Default Kansas Walleye?

Anyone here started picking up any walleye in KS, post spawn?
Also, anyone have any info for me on El Dorado/Cheney? I'm new to Wichita and wouldn't mind having a little info on the lake...where to start anyhow.

Thanks Monte.

You fish Wilson quite a bit? My brother and I have fished it forever. It's a great lake if the wind cooperates.

One of my buddies fished off of one of the rock bluffs??? about a week ago and hit a 21 incher his first cast. Had another good one on the next cast, but broke off. Had a third about a dozen casts later, and broke his rod. He was done fishing for the rest of the day. He was just dinking around between turkey hunts. I have no idea where he was...I've never been on the lake. Let me know how you do up there.

Default How's the fishing going??

Wilson walleye remain tough. My brother went out Sunday all day and netted 1 keeper (no shorts). We had trouble finding concentrations Memorial Weekend and the weekend before. Most fish are quality though. Anyone else concerned that not stocking it the last 5 years is going to screw it up??

I finally found the fish at El Dorado. 21" length limit is the problem. It sure is tough to release a 20" fish. But in a few years those big girls in there will be worth it.

How's everyone else doing this year??

Default Clinton hot

I fished Clinton Saturday and Sunday. Everybody I talked to on the water said they'd been killing the 'eyes over the last 3 or 4 days. I caught 12 on Saturday fishing alone. Most of them were in 16-23' of water pulling slow death rigs on bouncers. The amazing thing to me was that walleyes and saugers were all I caught. I took my daughter out with me today. We caught 6 eyes/saugers, 2 wipers, 4 crappie, a channel cat and a drum in 3 hours. All of them in the exact same area as Saturday. I'm really finding the Gulp 3" Fry on a slow death rig to be a great setup. The best part about the Gulp is that I rarely have to change the bait. I might have used six total for two days. In fact today I never changed baits. I used the same Gulp on each line all day catching at least four fish on each.
