Default Wiring up my New HDS 5

Quick question, When wiring up the power it says the yellow wire is the accessory wake up line.(what is that). It doesn't show it going anywhere. Can I forget it? Thanks!

From your installation manual:

The diagram above shows two HDS units and an LBS-1 connected via an
NEP-1. The power cable from each device contains a yellow wire. The yellow
wire is the Accessory Wake Up line. Connect the yellow wires together. When
the Accessory Wake Up line is used to connect units with the accessory wake
up feature, you can power up certain connected devices from one location,
including digital sonar optimizers and expansion ports.

So, if you have only one unit, the yellow wake up wire is really not used.
But if you have multiple Lowrance units and want to network them together, the yellow wake up wire is used to power up other Lowrance units from a different location.

If you decide to purchase an LSS-1 (Structure Scan) in the future, you can use that Yellow wake-up wire from your HDS unit to connect it to the yellow wake-up wire from the LSS-1. This will turn your Structure Scan module on and off when you press the power, on or off on your HDS unit.
