Bought a Weber grill the other night, as I was assembling the grill last night I noticed the grill had damage and some missing parts. Shortly after 8pm I emailed the company with all the details and by 8:30pm I had a response that the parts have been shipped out with a tracking number. Now thats A1 customer service!!!!!!! Surely didn't expect to get a response until this morning. Why can't all companies be this helpful?
Now I am the owner of three Weber Grills and couldn't be happier. |

Also found this info from CBS Money watch: Although Weber does produce two inexpensive gas models in oversea, all other grills, including all its flagship charcoal models, are made in Illinois. Says Executive Vice President Mike Kempster, "We're proud to be an American company." |

I bought my first Weber in 1977 when I was still in high school.
It was the big kettle, it cost me $40 All my friends thought I was crazy spending that kind of money on a bbq I remember one time I went to Tip Up Town on Houghton Lake. I had my truck camper and we stayed on the ice. I cooked a turkey one day on it. People would stop and check it out, I would give them a hunk of turkey. They could not believe I was cooking a turkey in the middle of winter a mile out on the ice. Man I miss those days LOL I still have that grill. Plus 2 other Webers.

I love mine too. I bought the performer model 15 years ago. It's a kettle type with charcoal lit with propane. My wife freaked that it cost more than a gas grille. But she came around to great taste and long lasting quality.
Not to get carried away, but I think this company and product is a great example of what people should expect, appreciate, pay a little more for upfront. There is just too much garbage out there that ends up in the landfill in a year. The good stuff works better, lasts longer, and is a better long term value. |

My Weber now is 20 years and 10 months old and going strong.
I have replaced the ignitor and a couple of other minor parts.

Weber charcoal kettle is all I will grill on. Wife and kids think I would like a Holland or Green Egg and I ask why spend the money? The Weber Kettle has serve use fine for years.

Every year come fall I think, "Well, next year we'll get a new one" and every spring I take it out, power wash everything and say "she's good to go". I just replace the flavor bars and grill periodically as needed.

although I was disappointed in my propane Go Anywhere experience, as long as I can shovel a path to my "modded" Smokey Joe, I'll fire some coals up and grill a couple of brats just for myself.
Of course, the guys on this forum are just as nuts as we are. http://tvwbb.com/eve/forums/a/cfrm/f/7530039023 HRG

I suppose this is where we start the propane versus charcoal debate?
![]() I got tired of waiting for charcoal in sub freezing temps and eradic temps and bought the Weber Summit S-470, lots more than I wanted to spend, but it's made grilling much easier and enjoyable. Weber does make a good product imho Al
