Have you done anything to it recently, like updating software to make it change?

have not done anything to it. The unit was occasionally shuttign off in rough water when I would hit a wave so i did some bendiing on the power chord to get a better connection. It didnt shut off on lake michigan yesterday in 2 ft waves but now it dies when ever I mark a waypoint which i dont think it was doing before.

I would double check your power connections before doing anything else.

Make sure you are getting 12v to the unit at the connector

Make sure you don't have a button hanging up somewhere.

I would recommend that you check the current under load on the unit. If the unit is loosing power it could cause the unit shut down.

Since your unit is turning back on, this almost sounds as if there maybe a button sticking or issue with the keypad on the unit.

Details on service of the unit can be found at the below link:

Thank you,

Deborah @ Humminbird

all right, figured soem stuff out. I had the "snapshot" feature turned on on my hbird when trying to mark waypoints BUTi didnt have a sd card in the unit so it would restart itself. If i turn the snapshot feature off i can mark way points all day long. Anyone else notice this or can check their unit to see if its normal...
