Default Tin is in, baby!

Aluminum-hulled boats accounted for 58% of new boat sales last year.

Interesting stuff, and there's something to be said for the simplicity they mentioned. I am in the process of researching a new boat purchase right now myself, and my go-to boat is the Lund Tyee 1950. I am also considering a couple fiberglass boats as well--Ranger, for one.

I have no idea which way I'll be deciding just yet as I don't to have a final decision for another week or two, but I can certainly appreciate how complicated some of these high-dollar boats are. After researching this for the past week or two, my brain hurts!

But then the first graph if you only show 15-24' boats there are 63% glass. I would not be surprised by tin out selling glass here in MN. A lot more options when buying a 16-18' tin boat.

Good point--lots and lots of boats being sold in that size range, and aluminum is lighter for folks (and probably less expensive in those sizes as well). So that's what you get.
