V2 Vs Terrova

Been doing some thinking lately and the idea of having a trolling motor with I pilot has me thinking real hard about replacing the V2 on my boat.

I know I can simply purchase the I pilot head for the V2, but the improved design and function of the Terrova has me thinking about just moving towards one of those. I would end up with the same 55lb rating as I really dont need the weight and expense of an 80.

Does the terrova foot pedal and deploy system make it worth the extra coin? Do they hold up well?

I did some thinking with the -pilot in mind and heres my idea. the tarrova has the compass to lock you in to the direction when you put i pilot on you put that on plus the other features so I bought a v2 then put the i pilot on and had everything in that unit saved a couple hundred dollars and it works the same just a thought

Just bought a new v2 70 I pilot 24v 60in shaft and sonar2 for $1159. (18ft boat)
No more foot pedal with the v2 and Ipilot.
Was looking at Terrova and think the Terrova is more robust than the V2.
I always had great luck with the Power drive series so I stayed with the V2.
The Ipilot is a much better deal pre installed.
Rather than go with a Terrova I would upgrade to 24v and V2. Probably the same cost as a 55 Terrova.
I don`t fish heavy all the time and see the advantage of 24v.
If I did fish heavy I would go with a Terrova 24v.

You guys are gonna make me go all buck wild with this thing, current rig is a crestliner 1600 angler, but would like to eventually get a bigger boat. Still pondering if the extra 70# in the front of this rig would outweigh the benefits. The 80 would give me all kinds of wind bucking power thou...

X2, its not close for me. I have owned both and the #80lb terrova is excellent, if its in the budget it is a great machine.

x3 I finally bit the bullet and got an #80lb 60" terrova myself have had it out 5 times and it is AMAZING I also agree the deployment alone is worth the cost and for days in weather I wouldn't want anything else!
