Default Bay de Noc reports?

I'm heading up th Bay de Noc on Wednesday. Any reports or starting points?

I'm monitoring the web pages up there but just thought that I'd ask my WC buddies too.

Dennis, We were there last Thursday and Friday and had limited success. Thursday had high winds making just standing up in the boat difficult and Friday was dead calm. Thursday we ran the kicker in reverse and were still going 1.5 mph. I would fish one of four spots: along third reef in 18-26 fow, the east side bumping the sand bar that sticks out, the hump(25-28 fow) in Black Bottom, or south of Escnaba along the west wall all the way down to the Ford River can. I would also be sure to be on the hump in Black Bottom just before dark, or just outside third reef. We did manage one fish that was 30 and one half inches that my partner brought home for mounting. We wittnessed a 31 and one half inch Walleye caught at night off third reef that was weighed at 13 lbs. 9 oz. The guy was trying to revive it in the morning to release it back for someone else to catch. It was the fattest fish I have everseen. All our fish were caught on purple prizms (Matsou's, Bombers, or A.J Thundersticks) using lead core. The night bite is still your best bite. Use the Gladstone launch especially if it is windy. If Someday is going tell him The Sandman says hello Good luck, from a fellow W.U. member, and let us know how it goes.

I'll be staying at Terrace Bay. Sandstone and Geen Lund Tyee on Ezyloader and Sandstone Chev Burb. Will be on channel 16. Anne's Regret, that's me, hit 17 fish two weeks ago in 18 hours. Keept 6 eaters! Not great but not to bad. Wind will decide where I fish. We went as fast as 2.4 and caught fish. 29" was the largest. Putting the snow tires on the boat tonight!

Thanks Sandman!!!

Stephen forwarded your email to me. Fenwick keep your radio on and let's converse. I usually monitor 68 and 69 up there. I'd suggest staying off of 16.

Anyone else heading up???

Did well a week ago Monday night, 14 of 16 with 7 fish over 7 lbs. Stayed mostly on Third. Blue/silver with an orange bottom was best for us. Snap weights and lead core in 18-22 fow. Speed was around 1.4 on the GPS.
I did not do much on Center and did not work second or First.
Try the break off Butler's Island. This area has been a big fish spot for me this time of year. There are still some decent weeds up on top there.

If you find as Blue Prism/ orange bottom AJ Thunderstick floating around I will gladly take it back. I unfortunately had the clip come open and it fall off that night.

Good luck,

Will your numbers were much higher then mine. I did get a few lessons from Cap. Doug M. Schriber after I salted the ramp at gladstone Sat. morn. Seems I should have left the ICE from the night before and he had to tell me in front of his clients what a jackass I was for getting the ramp wet after putting two bags of salt down and then pulling my wet trailer out. Made my morning start out on the right foot. He then worked the Terrace on top as he did for the last four days and boated fish. I didn't want to get another lesson from him so I fished elseware. He chewed me out before for fishing HIS SPOTS. Glad I was alone or he would have said I was guiding!!! Thanks Doug for setting me straight again!!! When will I learn. See you next time.

It's good to know that someone else knows everything besides me! Seriously, I'm sorry you had a bad experience with Mr. Schrieber. That's too bad not only for you but he as well.

He's talked with our club on various occasions and I've always found something useful to take with me. Then again, I've also found that you can't always believe what you see or are told. Shame on me!

Perhaps you just caught him on a bad day? In any case it's too bad that it happened, to you and in front of clients.

Joe

Sorry about the run in. I must not have had my breakfast that day. It has been a long year. One more weekend to go, I Hope. Sorry again Doug
