Locator Location: Where to put the better unit?

I'm going to be buying a new boat. I plan on buying 2 Lowrance locators. I likely will be buying one really good unit and one average unit. I'm looking for opinions on where I should mount the better unit; at the wheel or the bow? I fish all major Minnesota species (Bass, Walleye, Muskie, Northern). My dealer indicates that the better unit usually goes up front. Your thoughts?
