Keeping Small Perch?

Some of the perch headboats are reporting catching limits of small perch in a couple of hours. 40 to 50 limits X only 30 is 1200 to 1500 small perch per trip. Some charters have reported these numbers for the last several weeks. Will this hurt the perch population for the next several years or are there so many perch
that it doesn't matter?
I'm not complaining, I was just wondering.
