Default New Lowrance ???

I'm currently running an LMS 334 gps/graph. I may move that to the bow of the boat to use for jigging the Detroit river. I'd like to get into a larger screen color unit that doesn't cost $1,500.00 bucks for the main unit. Is the new HD the way to go? My complaints on the current unit are this:
freezes up quite a bit.
too small to really tell what the heck is going on in split screen mappin/sonar.

ANy suggestions that won't put me into the poor house! thanks

See if you can find a Lowrance LCX-27, should cost $700-$800, larger screen, software available to relieve the freeze-up problem if you have one (unlike the 334). I had a 334, now have an LCX-27- really like the bigger screen, which is bigger than the HDS-5 or HDS-7 screens.

Had an issue with BPS on a recent purchase (kicker) that they are offering 10% off of any electronics purchase to rectify the situation. I really didn't want to spend the cash at this time, but i'm about to loose an extra points deal that I'm sure you've all seen in the mail as well. Man, this isn't easy for someone that doesn't know much about this.

If you are referring to Cabela's club points, that is just a rumor just flying around. I just got off the phone with Cabela's customer service and they have heard nothing about it. The CS guy did have a good laugh as we both agree it was good business to have everyone rushing in to spend their points....that were not going anywhere.

give them a call,

good luck GF

I'm talking about Bass Pro Shops reward points. I recieved a coupon in the mail for 500 points that expires on the 8th. I thought it would be worth the $$$ If I could buy it down.

I would get two stand alone units and mount them side by side useing ram mounts.

I would give Humminbird and Garmin a hard look. The Lowrance lcx 27 has freeze up issues too.

Check out the latest Cabela"s catalogue. They have a discontinued model with a 7" screen, the LCX27c for $699. Hope this helps. Tom

P.S. I just bought one myself.

Default LCX -7c ?

I just checked all over the Cabelas website (3:00pm Feb 14 ) and it there is no mention of it.
The 28C appears at $899.00

but no 27c anywhere.

Do you have a catalogue number / code?

thanks
