Question Lund advise

I am re-powereing my older Lund Rebel tiller. The drivers seat is too close to the transom for the newer long tiller handles. About eight inches forward of the rear seat there is a plate on the floor over the carpet that when removed feels like a hole under the carpeting. Is this hidden opening there for the re-positioning of this seat? Appears that way, but I'm not fully sure.
