Thumbs up Statos 386XF

Cal319:

We have an '09 386XF purchased new in the spring of 2010. We have the Yamaha F150 Main and a 9.9 High-Thrust Kicker.

Total package from the local dealer included:
4th passenger seat.
Full Mooring Cover.
Custom made Fitted 2 piece Travel Cover (sunbrella).
2 Bike Seats and Pedestals.
Ski Pole.
Full Canvas Enclosure.
$100 gift certificate with Colorado State Parks.
$100 pre-paid Shell gas card.
$50 gift certificate and 10% discount coupon for accessory purchase.
Zippered bag containing 4 life jackets and a floating cushon.
Cast iron anchor and 100' rope.
Out the door $31,000.

Similar deal from Ranger dealer (but nowhere near as complete) for a Reata 1850 RS was $12,000 more. Dealer was not at all willing to negotiate on anything. Wife was OK with the Ranger if I wanted it but I could not see $12,000 difference in value for what we wanted.

Engines have been bulletproof and very quiet. At 3,500 ft elevation WOT of 5,500 - 5,600 RPM with 17 pitch Yamaha aluminum prop, 2 people and gear = 43 MPH. Add 3,000 ft elevation and the WOT drops and MPH goes to 40. We are considering a SS prop from Propman for a little better hole shot and cruise without sacrificing top end.

Boat is a very dry ride. Last month we got caught in some really rough weather on a 35,000 acre reservoir in western Nebraska. Wife sat in bottom of boat. (Scared but dry) while I made the 3 mile run back to the campground boat ramp. I won't let that happen again! I should have headed for camp as soon as I saw the wild looking clouds forming in the southwestern sky.

We gernerally fish in the early mornings and late afternoons/early evenings. Have had as many as four fishermen in the boat with room to spare. During the heat of the day we often set-up the ski pole (5 minutes) and tow the kids around on their tubes. Great fun.

We have had several other boats (both aluminum and glass) but none that we liked better than this rig. AND, we like this rig a lot!

Hope the above is helpful.

Cody
