Best fishing in the states

Our group has decided not to make the trip to canada this year, instead we are staying in the states. Looking for the best pure fishing opportunity whether it is bass walleye crappie ect. Just looking to catch alot of fish and have as much fun as possible. Open to any and all suggestions. Looking at anything from the thousand islands in NY to stripers in VA to walleyes in WI Thanks for any info.

What time of year? The western basin of erie in may can be awesome. Renting a house on Kelly's or south bass, makes for short runs and a great time.

Mid August on lake Ontario for salmon is another great trip. Either pt breeze or olcott.

The thing i like most about trips is the away time. Dont get me wrong a great bite always helps but a fishing trip is much more than the fishing to me!

Consider coming to the Ozarks and fishing Bull Shoals. Largemouth and Smallmouth bass, Stripers, and Walleyes. Any lake that serves as a stop for PWT and BASS is worth a look. Book one day with Mike Worley as your guide, then enjoy the lake on your own. If you want Branson is about an hour from the lake for entertainment.

Id do Lake of the Woods, walleyes, lakers, perch, pike, muskies what more do ya need?

Why don't you go to Alaska and catch Salmon until your arm falls off.

Or go to Hawaii, and go after the bill fish for the fish of your lifetime.

Remember these are our two states that are part of the union.

Both have wonderful fishing opportunities.

For Hawaii, especially in the summer time; you can get wonderful rates to go and stay there.

Another wonderful opportunity is to go after the big walleyes and sturgeon on the Columbia river in Oregon. We were there a couple of years ago, and the fishing is not only outstanding, but there are so many other wonderful things to do, and see there as well.

There are several folks who frequent this forum that work the Columbia. Perhaps they could hook you up with the best times and places to do your thing.

I see that you are from WNY. In terms of pure fishing opportunities in the US, it is very hard to beat your backyard! The eastern basin of Erie has arguably the best smallmouth fishing in the world. And, you also have salmon fishing in Lake Ontario, perch and walleye in Erie, musky and largemouth fishing in the Niagara River, and good inland opportunities at Chautauqua, Silver & Conesus.

If I were you, and if I really wanted to explore opportunities in the US, I would go after something that is not available in WNY. Maybe fishing for stripers & blues off Long Island, or fly fishing on Henry's Fork or in Yellowstone NP.

Green Bay= great bass, walleye, perch, salmon, pike, whitefish, brown trout, steelhead.

For big walleye, take a look at the Columbia R. below McNary Dam in the spring.

Fly down to New Orleans and head 90 miles south to Venice Louisiana - Can fish a couple days inshore for speckled trout and redfish plus a couple days offshore for tuna/wahoo/AJs etc etc. Easy trip, guides do all the work, you have all the fun.
