Have any of you fished Pokegama Lake? This is my first post on WC. I'm eight years old and love fishing. I caught a 21" smallmouth on Pokie while fishing with my dad and brother.

Hey Tegan,
My inlaws have a cabin on Pokie and I fish it quite a bit. Can't wait to get back out there, we put the dock in last week! Good luck to you this summer. Joe |

I have fished it a few times. My folks are retired and have a place near there, and lots of times we bring the boat up there and fish on Pokegama with my dad and my son (he's also 8 years old). Pokegama is a really neat lake, I like it a lot!

Pokegama in GR is terrible. No fish in there. Might as well hit another lake.

Hey Tegan,
Welcome to Walleye Central ! Pokegama should be great for the next few years. After the BIG smelt die off last summer the walleye fishing really improved. I think the bite should be real good until the smelt population rebounds again. It's such a diverse lake, Walleye, Smallmouth,Largemouth,Crappie,Sunfish and some huge Northerns and they tell me Muskie but I haven't heard of anyone actually catching one. I just wish I would have started fishing it when I was 8 years old. By the time your my age you'll probably be guiding out there. :-) Jim |
