Was into a store yesterday to buy some lead core. I was told the store was discontinuing lead core as it only will last 5-6 times. Before breaking down. Has anyone else had this expereince. Also is there a big difference to using 15# to the reccomended 18# thanks

I haven't had any issues with leadcore not lasting. I usually get at least 2 full seasons out of mine with no issues. I would however recommend that you keep it out of the sun when you aren't using it. Sun light is hard on it as it is on any line. I have only used the 18# so I can't comment on the 15# but I doubt if there would be a significant difference. Go ahead and try the leadcore and have fun with it. It has really added to my success catching walleyes, particularly when the conventional methods don't work as well. Rob

I don't troll for walleyes, did the lead core take the place of adding snap weights to your line? Does anybody use snap weights anymore? Do you still need the trolling bible when using lead ? I would like to start learning about this so I can add another method of walleye fishing.
thanks

I usually get about 300 hrs. of trolling on my lead core line before changing it. Seelhoff forced me to troll more these days so I change at least once every season being I put in more than 300 hrs. a year using lead core.
I use #18lb. because Seelhoff told me to.
