Fished on the Bay of Green Bay for walleyes this week. Fished with Captain Steve Paulsen, Steve does a great job catching fish and teaching how to catch fish. Also fished with Brandon Miller and his son Austin, also Paul Ehrfurth.
Mostly pulled spinners, Northland's Crawler Hauler that had some chartreuse in it was effective. Used crawlers, pinch an inch off the tail of the crawler for more effectiveness. Later in the day we pulled #7 Flicker Shad baits, color wasn't too critcial. Everything was off the bottom. We fished 14-18 feet of water about ten feet down. Saw more small fish than on previous trips. This is when the Tattle Flags on the Off Shore Boards really help. We would have drug fish without if we hadn't been using Tattle Flags. Sometimes the fish would hit, then just swim with the board. If the flag went straight up, there was a small one on the bait. The Bay of Green Bay out of Oconto continues to be a world-class walleye fishery. Go to ocontocounty.org for Oconto County info Go to walleyemadnessfishing.com to contact Steve Paulsen.
