South Dakota Walleyes
Was fishing near Yankton SoDak this week. On the Missouri River, fished with Scott Madison. Scott is a guide in that area. He grew up there and really knows the water.
We fished in the river, lots of wind on the lake. Two of us fishing, we pulled four lines. #5 Flicker Shad were best, red crawdad was a good color but so was sunset gold and firetiger. At least one rod was almost always pulled over. Walleyes, smallmouth and white bass, sheepshead, channel catfish, and one paddlefish. Fished sand bars in 5-8 feet of water. The flood of last year has changed the river as far as structure, but it is thought by the locals that the flood also brought in a lot of fish. Fishing has been outstanding in that area all year so far.
