I've never heard of any issues of roller trailers and riveted hulls.
As for the sliders on bunks...never liked them as they (it would seem to me) concentrate the load of the hull on the bunks to several very small points as opposed to the bunks taking the load over a much borader area of the entire bunk surface. The silicon spray on the bunks seemed to make more sense & works well..if you need the slip. |

Is the issue with aluminum boats on bunk trailers the problem of getting off and on the bunks because of friction?
If so, spray the bunks with silicone lube someday when you have the boat off the trailer and the bunks are dry. But be careful, the boat will come OFF the bunks much easier than prior to spraying. From experience. |

Re roller trailers and rivets,,in themselves no specific problem.
However, compared to bunk, on a the roller trailer ,the weight bearing is distributed over considerably less area of the boat. So the important issue with a rollor trailer for any boat, riveted, welded or glass,is having enough rollers and the correct setup of the rollers so as to give adequately support to critical areas such as bow and transom. As long as the setup is correct, should be no issues with a roller trailer. |
