The road is the same road as it always is, avoid when wet! Seriously it is about like last year, although I have not been on it in a month. I boated to the area around Snow Ck. one day last week, got into lots of nice fish just west of there. No biggies that day, but limits of 20 inch class fish. The big ones are there to be had and guys are getting them, just depends on your day. One buddy of mine just spent a week camped at H*ll Ck. and never got out of the bay for the wind, but caught fish out toward the mouth of the bay every day. No lack of wind this year. Minnows or leeches are still producing best for me, but they are turning on to crawlers more every day as summer approaches. Good luck!

Default Thanks Ruffnek

Thanks Ruffnek!

It's been a long time since I wet a line in those waters... I can't wait to give it a try over there again!

If you get stuck in the bay because of wind, go straight across the bay and drag bouncers or lindy rigs with your choice of meat along the weed line in 10-20 feet of water and you will limit out. You may catch an occasional big one 6-10 pounds. Lots of 2-5 lb fish.

This time of year, I expect you will do fine.

Also, snow creek, troll the windward side. If for some reason they are not biting well, move deeper.

If your a jigger, jig main lake points. Look for ones that stick out further than the rest.

Fort peck in June is just the nuts.

It might be too late, but for a change of pace, trolling large deep diving cranks over points on the main lake can net you a bonus Mackinaw or Salmon along with the usual big walleye and Northern.

Bring lots of tackle, for some reason the Northerns has some really sharp teeth this year. I must have lost a dozen spinner rigs to them gators. Luckily I tie my own and they were cheap.

Default Thanks Mike!! Good stuff!

Mike,

Appreciate the info. Last time I was there, we fished out of a 16ft Lund with a 40 horse tiller...Spent lots of time across where you are talking...Of course, that was 13 years ago...

I've heard lots of Snow Creek...where is it located in relation to H*ll Creek?

Thanks again,
Rigs

First big bay West of H*ll Ck. on the South side of the lake, 5 miles or so to the mouth. ANYPLACE on that part of the lake can fish well right now given the day, although I bombed checking out some old haunts at Southerland one day last weekend. Not my day there, I guess, as others did OK close by. Crossed to the south side back a little West of Snow Ck. again and got a 31 plus a bunch of nice keepers in the 18 to 23 inch class. Work with the wind, it is your friend if it is not just howling.
