Default Question for Propman regarding 300 Offshore on 621 Ranger

I currently have a 21p prop that came with the motor and I seem to avg. 55-56mph. I have wanted to try a 23p but not sure I want to spend the money if it does not improve my top end. Due you have any recommendations on what pitch or brand name of prop to use to get a little more top end?

Default Propman

The sweet spot for rpm's is 5700 with the stock 21p prop and the motor is in the bottom hole. I run the boat with a full tournament load and usually 2 guys. Thanks for any help on this!

I know Jimmy Bell and Ross Grothe are using a 21p Yamaha Pro Series on their 621's and seeing upper 50's to 60 mph.

I run a Skeeter WX2100 and currently use a 21p Yamaha Salt Water Series II and see 57-58.5 mph

you may want to contact either one and check motor mounting hole to see if it differs from yours.

Default Prop F300

The 4.3 liter block loves RPM's and yours are way to low. You want that motor in the 6000 ranger. I do run the 21P pro series and hands down the best for that boat and engine. Hole shot is amazing and I run around 60-61 with full load on a good day. Flat calm I am around 59mph.

I would look if the prop is a 21M which is the Pro Series I believe the Saltwater is a 21T.

You can email me, I have a jack plate so can't really tell you on height but I know Ross had no jack plate last year and ran as fast if not faster than I did so I don't think that will make much difference.

Picking up my new 621/ 300 offshore tomorrow. Motor was rigged at Ranger. They recommended the 21p pro series as well. Great to hear that it is a proven combination. Didn't go with a plate, as Ranger and dealer said it was not necessary. Hope it's mounted at the same height as Ross's because I will be absolutely thrilled with 59-60, close to 6k WOT, and very good holeshot.

Robert i also run a wx 2100. Came with the 21 pitch slat water series prop. I bouht a 23 pitch Turbo 1 last week and tried this on my 300 offshore. Best i got top end was 58.5 mph at 5400 rpms wide open throttle. If anyone is interested in a 23 pitch turbo 1 let me know....i am going to try and find a 21 pitch turbo 1 to demo....anyone have any leeds on where i could get one?
