What is your best story

So who has the best story on "walked into a garage sale.." and found xyz. Have 1 friend who found 2 G Loomis rods for $5 in Michigan and another buddy who bought a motor for $500. 1 year old 2 stroke 40 HP. (evinrude)

I have never been the recipient of that type of luck yet. Who has the best story?

When I finished college I sold off some 'toys' at my parents garage sale. My mom sold my high dollar car stereo for $3. I had it priced at $300. Woops!!!

I found a brand new pair of woolrich upland pants for 8 bucks at a garage sale..think they retail for ~60. Not quite the find your friends had.

There is a large chain store here in Canada and one of the locations was going under renovations so they had this large clearance sale. It was crazy the prices they had. It went on for a week and they were constantly bringing carts of stuff out. We went every day at lunch since it was a weekday and we all worked. You would see the same people standing around every day waiting with carts just FULL of stuff.

It wasn't just outdoor gear, but I managed to get a Mustang floater jacket for $5, a Mustang manual inflatable waist pouch PFD for $5, a life jacket for $5, bunch of lures for 10 to 25 cents. My buddy grabbed some waders for $5. I cannot remember what else, but it was crazy. We still talk about it.

Not fishing stuff, but a great deal has only happened to me once, in about 1986. I bought a 1966 Impala four door from my neighbor at a garage sale for $35.00. My cousin wanted the motor for his '54 chevy. I traded him the Impala for a Remington 870 shotgun. Killed a lot of birds with that gun. Oh yea, I bought an antique 10 guage double barrell shotgun at a garage sale for $30.00 ten years ago too. Would never try to shoot it, but it's a cool piece to hang over the fireplace.

9.9 Evinrude, Sportwin. Mint condition. Gal was asking $50.00, I bartered her down to $35.00. Used it for a few years duck hunting, advertised it for $375.00 and sold it.
