Yamaha recommends the MY Wedge. They even have My Wedge make them for Yamaha with the Yamaha name on the side in white letters.

I've had the m-ywedge for a few years. Works great and convenient. I know some guys will never be convinced, that's fine, to each his own. I haven't read about any user problems yet.

Since using the MY WEDGE I have lost 25lbs, grown 2", my gray hair has dissapeared and I only have to shave my pubes half as often as before.

Thanks MY WEDGE!

I switched to the My Wedge and the centering clips and love it. Each to their own though.

We've had the should I or should I not use a transom saver discussion several times in the past. The other often not discussed reason to use some sort of transom stick is to put the motor at a height that will not damage the skeg when going up and down street and driveway ramps. When the bottom of my motor is at least 14" above a level surface I have yet to cause any damage to the motor in my 30 years of towing.

Default My Wedge

For us tiller guys, I don't think it would help keep the motor straight when trailering.

My Wedge is a gimmick. Does nothing to support the outboard. That's alot of weight hanging on a transom, a transom saver acts as a stiff leg. My Wedge does none of that.

in my opinion the biggest hurtle mywedge has is the name of what they are "transom saver" in reality they should be called "power trim savers"

ie;
there isn't a modern boat made today who needs to worry about their transom failing due to towing stress; but all engines except etec needs to worry about their power trim/tilt being damaged during towing

if you don't believe me call your boat manufacturer and ask them; thats what i did
