The 90 is the same block as the 115 (and same as 75). Its also the same block as the smaller supercharged Verado's (but without the supercharger). The difference in top speed between 90 & 115 might be closer to 2-2.5 mph, but it will put out nearly the same torque for the lower 60% of the powerband.

Some motors that share the same block can be upgraded quite easily. To convert a Yammy 75 to a 90, for example, you simply remove an air restrictor and swap engine control units. I'm guessing the Merc conversion would be similar. I only mention this because you could fit it with a 90, and do the conversion later if you decide you need the extra 25 ponies. You'd have to verify if this type of converion is possible with the Mercs first.

Comparing the 1675 to the 1775, I think the difference in length will be less noticed than the difference in beam. It goes from 90" in the 1675 to 94" in the 1775. The 17 footer is quite wide and would be pretty stable as well. Also will be slower if you are comparting a 1675 to 1775 with each having a 90 hp engine.

Also to the OP, periods help convey your message. Sorry, had to mention it. Good luck with your purchase

Running the numbers thru the Lund boat builder, there's a $722 difference at MSRP between the 115 and the 90. When I called Simon Motorsports about re-flashing the ECM on a 50 to a 60, they quoted me $650. Plus, it would probably void the warranty.

Get the 115.

I can't offer a comparisson between the 1675 and 1775, but I am happy to report my satisfaction with the 1775 Impact Sport. I picked up mine in early May, and have had it out on the lakes nearly every weekend since.

Plenty of room to fish three, and lots of storage space for your stuff. With the 155 EFI 4S, the boat planes quickly and rides nicely in heavy chop and wind. I hope you enjoy yours as much as I'm enjoying mine: )

You'll also get most the $800 upgrade money back on re-sale too. Modifying the engine will certainly void the warranty.
