Default Not for me!

I don't have a huge family, wife and two young boys, I have a tiller now and can't wait to upgrade next year to a full windshield. Tillers are nice, and I've enjoyed fishing out of mine, but the water I fish, if I want my wife and kids to join me, they have to be warm and dry (I am sick of getting wet and cold as well) and that is not possible in a tiller. Been there, done that, getting an 1860 with a windshield.

Thanks for the info! I think you guy's are pointing me back in the direction I started. I would like to be in the 15-25 range for price. I know that is wide range but I'm not ruling out a nice late model boat if I find a nice one.

So if you guys have any suggestions in that price range I'm all ears or eyes I guess.

Started out the same way, 16-ft Starcraft tiller with plenty of room for me, wife, 4 year old and 5 year old. Recently bought an Impact 1875 full windshield. Kids are 8 and 9, boat has plenty of room w/windshield and like was mentioned, the windshield is nice on cool days and keeps the spray down. Suntop fits nice to the full windshield as well. Swim platform going on soon. Glad we made the move.

I have three kids and run a 17 ft Lund 1700, it's too small for all of us to cast but just big enough if all you want to do is jig.

When the kids are younger a boat under 19ft might be OK but once they are teenagers I think you will need at least a 21 ft boat to have enough room.

To be honest, a pontoon is a better bet for a large group fishing. I see many large families on the river fishing from a pontoon, maybe all you need is a bigger motor to get some speed.

Nothing wrong with outfitting a pontoon boat for fishing, all you need is a cooler for a Livewell!

The pontoons worked great but they are no fun to drag around. Hope to look at a couple boats today after work.

Alright for a family of 6 and 25k or less what would you buy? The more I look the more confused I get!

Thanks for the help!
