Default Impact/Explorer Livewell

My rear livewell seems to be too full when I leave the switch in auto. The overflow is working okay but the level is only about an inch or two under the cover. Ends up sloshing around enough that it soaks the carpet. Added Explorers into the mix cuz I think they have the same livewell as the Impacts. (2011-2012 anyway) I would expect some seepage as it doesn't have a rubber seal on the cover but this soaks the entire back cover area so you cannot sit on it at all.
Anyone else have this issue?

Check the drain to see if it is plugged up. It's in the far right corner. Sometimes you have to move the weight in the boat around mine does theis all the time. If the boat is tilted to the left side it will spill out the top before going out the drain.
Good luck

Jeff...
Like Ranger 22----the only time I have had that happen on my Explorer is when fish puked up stuff and partially blocked the screen on the overflow.

Turn the spray head in about a turn to limit the water flow from the pump. You may be pumping more than the overflow can handle. That's what I have to do with my 05 Explorer.

Instead of drain plug, consider a standpipe of desired length to reduce water level. I'm going with one on my Lowe because the level is too high and water slowly wets floor in **** pit area behin front livelwell.

On my 2010 Explorer if I have fish in the livewell they will sometimes get against the overflow and block it while running down the lake. It makes it over flow into the bilge area. My livewell has a pickup tube in the bottom of the boat that I can turn off to stop this. Crappie are the worst for doing this and I am going to come up with something to keep them back a little. A screen like outside the boat would be nice but not sure if it would mount there.

The stand pipe might work too.
