I may be mistaken but I don't think those floaters are a "Phelps Floater". They are similar but the Phelps is shaped a bit different. They probably work fine but you may want to call the original Phelps guy and get a catalog and compare before ordering. Just my .02. Rob

Default Phelps Floaters

Hello Gentleman! First of all, thank you soo much for the kudos on a great product, and for those of you who know Phelps Tackle as a better product than others that try to copy products we have made I especially Thank You! My Father and I always prided ourselves on quality products. Those of you in this conversation that don't know for sure of what product Philadelphia(Tim I believe) is talking of, as well as a couple others, it is nothing like the original Phelps Floater, or like that northland thing, it was developed with a totally different hook style. One gentleman, forgive me I forgot your name, did post a picture of it in this conversation. I do have a catalog with price list and order form I am working on right now to do mail order items, which we all know this day and age is old school, but is what I have for now. I recently started having a website made to accommodate you great people. Some may have heard the story of my father and his death, the struggle that we went through and the business, ect. I will tell you all, that was just the beginning of my very unfortunate struggles for a few years to come. But, time to move ahead. I am very proud of what my father developed and of products we developed together, thus I am gonna try to provide these products to fisherman like you. Certainly not for the money, but because I believe I can outfish anyone with the products my father and I developed. Thanks again friends! Matt Phelps

Hey Matt,

I am interested in getting a catalog from you if possible. I would love to order some original phelps floaters and try them out up here in Alberta and see how they compare to the others that I have.

Do you have an electronic catalog set up or just paper copies?

I haven't tried them yet but I did hold them up to the light then turned it off they glow nicely! The instructions say you can use them on a plain hook to a spinner rig.I was thinking on a Lindy rig.You just slide your line through the tube snell the hook then slide the tube over the knot and halfway down the shank they not only glow but protect the knot as well.I am really looking forward to trying these.

When rigging I use gum drop floaters 100% of the time.

Edit: just saw the Phelps floaters. Those look sweet. Are they soft like a gum drop floater? If so I'd be interested in some.
