went through the same thing last year. I didnt mess around, a new axle for my trailer was like $150, that is new everything.......I even upgrading to a 3500lb axle(bigger bearings) instead of the 2000lb that was on there. I kept the same springs so she still rides the same but i feel a whole lot safer when i leave for a long trip. I figured for a new spindle and hub and bearings i was looking at like $75, and cutting out and welding in a new axle would be a lot more labor intensive. The other thing that bothered me was getting the spindle in perfectly straight, if it was off just a little bit I would chew a tire up in no time and then I would have to buy a new tire and still have a bad axle. Dont mess around just look for a new axle. Check Tractor Supply if you have one close.

Was looking on line can't find any axel with 1"1/16 inner and outer bearings so does mean I have to change hubs too th e ones I have are brand new

You may find that some axles have a 1 1/16th outer bearing and the inner bearing may be 1 3/8th - This is for the 3500 lb axle. Fine, no issue.
But if you do have a new axle with an inner bearing of a different size - it is quite possible that you will need to replace the hubs. If the inner bearing is 1 3/8th, it is not too likely that you will be able to fit that bering into your current hubs.

Try southwest wheel they have axles with 1 1/16 bearings both inner and outer.

Update on spindle brought it to a place who specialize in Axel's and spindles told me not affecting the anywhere near the bearings or anything that would cause a problem bearings are still tight fitting told mei have nthing to be worried about
